Elizabeth Huebner – Artistic Director

dsc_0076Elizabeth began her dance training with her mother and step-father, Rosemary and Alan McCarter in Flagstaff, Arizona at the age of 11.  She furthered her dance education by attending summer intensives at San Francisco Ballet and The Joffrey Ballet School in New York City with Full Scholarships.  At the age of 15, she was offered a Full Year Round Scholarship to the Joffrey Ballet School in New York and moved to the Big Apple.  Elizabeth was then accepted into the Joffrey II Dancers Company, directed by Maria Grandy and Sally Bliss.  This small touring group traveled to all fifty states and then eventually overseas on a tour that took the dancers around the world.   Within 20 months she was promoted to the Joffrey Ballet Main Company under the Direction of Robert Joffrey.  Her favorite roles were ones created on her by Artistic Director, Gerald Arpino, including the ballets Italian Suite, Jamboree and the tribute to Mr. Balanchine at his death, QUARTERTONES FOR MR. B.  After her professional dance career she began to develop a passion for teaching dance.  Elizabeth joined Pacific Ballet Theatre in Portland, Oregon and began her teaching career at the Pacific Ballet Theatre School.  She then relocated to Southern California to teach for her parents at The Ballet Conservatory in Mission Viejo along with part time faculty member at University of California, Irvine from 1992-1998.  She founded the Classical Dance Center in Tustin, California and is enjoying the 20th anniversary of her studio.  Elizabeth has adjudicated for Dance Olympus and Dance America.  She has also received the Bravo Choreographers Award in 2012.  Her Trio and Ensemble Pieces both received TOP 12 at the Youth America Grand Prix in the Regionals in San Diego in 2013.  Both these dances qualified and will attend the New York City Finals as featured in the movie FIRST POSITION.  Elizabeth is also the founder of American Classic Costumes and is excited to have many of tonight’s dancers in her special creations!   Elizabeth is married to Tracy Huebner and they are proud parents of three budding ballerinas!
