We offer multiple levels of ballet class. Each level will focus on traditional barre work followed by center combinations, across the floor exercises, petite allegro, grand allegro and reverance. Dancers will have a clear understanding of body alignment, movement quality, carriage of upper body and flexibility along with experiencing classical ballet music and French terminology.
Does your little one love to move and dance? This class will give your little dancer a basic introduction to ballet positions and steps, while enhancing their motor skills and coordination with fun exercises in music qualities and rhythms, story-telling with movement and various props along with learning about the great classic ballets, and an introduction to the French terminology.
Serious ballet students will be introduced to pointe with teacher recommendation and must attend a minimum of three ballet three classes per week . Dancers must be properly fitted with ribbons and elastics sewn. Class will include barre and center exercises focusing on ankle strength, step transitions along with fluidity of movement and presentation. Dancers will also work on tradtional classical variations.
This class offered for various levels is a combination of ballet and jazz that challenges dancers to use choreography and movement to interpret music and express emotion. Dancers focus on lyrics to convey the dance's meaning. Movements are elongated, taken off their center and distorted to create a new aesthetic. All dancers are encouraged to participate in at least one ballet and one jazz class to progress at a quicker pace.
Hip hop dance refers to a street dance style primarily performed to hip hop music which has evolved as part of hip hop culture. It includes a wide range of styles primarily breaking, locking and popping which were created in the 1970s and made popular by dancer crews in the United States. Students will learn fundamentals and various techniques along with a fun combo! This class is for everyone, no experience necessary.
With multiple levels of tap, we are able to offer a class for everyone. Beginners will learn musicality and rhythm with high energy combinations. Dancers will build on these basic skills in the next levels, expanding technique and broadening to specific styles. All classes will focus on technique with across the floor combinations and finish with a well rounded technical routine.
Contemporary dance is a style of expressive dance that combines elements of several dance genres including modern, jazz, lyrical and classical ballet. This class will strive to connect the mind and body through fluid dance movements. Intermediate and Advanced levels available.
Our musical theatre class will focus on traditional and current Broadway dance styles along with educating dancers with current and past musical scores including facial expression and emotion. Show-stopping stage presence and acting with a attention to learning song and dance numbers. Exercises will also focus on increasing flexibility, strength, confidence along with various performance qualities. Get ready to shine and sparkle in a true Broadway combination at the end of every class!
This class will offer basic tumbling skills along with various dancer and acro tricks. Dancers will benefit from body awareness, timing, flexibility and confidence. Fundamental forward pike, bridge, somersault, cartwheel, handstand and kickover for our beginners building up to aerials, front/back walkover and partnered acro stunts. Fun for all ages and levels!
This class is a combination of ballet and jazz technique interpreting lyrics that tell a story along with body movement that is sustained and controlled. Dancers will learn lyrical technique along with the freedom of expression and interpretation of music. Students are encouraged to add a ballet and jazz class to progress at a quicker pace.
Jumps & Turns is a technique class designed to assist students in strengthening and improving the skills of different leaps, jumps and turns that dancers perform in Ballet, Jazz and Contemporary dance. Our technique classes focus on improving balance, flexibility, body alignment, and strength through both center floor and barre work in addition to across the floor combinations. Enrolling in a technique class is highly recommended for class advancement.
Your dancer will receive immediate feedback and personalized instruction that simply isn't possible in a large class setting. Private lessons offer a working one-on-one environment with a private instruction experience. Your dancer can focus on overcoming individual challenges, specific choreography or just brushing up on technique.
